My friend Lauren gave me this old shutter, and I thought it would make a perfect card holder for our wedding. I really love how it turned out!
Time: 20 minutes
Supplies:
Shutter (I decided not to paint this one because it seemed perfect the way it was, but you could paint one any color you need)
Burlap
Lace ribbon
Paint
Hot glue
Steps:
1. Cut burlap into triangles
2. Paint letters onto pieces
3. Let dry then hot glue them to a piece of ribbon
4. Let dry then attach to shutter
Fabulous idea! The little burlap banner is the perfect finishing touch! Thanks for sharing your idea with the DIY Weddings blog at Craft Gossip!
ReplyDeleteClever idea! TFS
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I found an old shutter also, but I'm having trouble making the cards stay put. The cards just seem to fall out one side or the other! I would appreciate any ideas.
ReplyDeleteThanks
The thicker cards I used stayed , but when I tried to use photos I also had trouble with them staying put. I had the idea to put some discrete tape under each slot. Try that!
